Description

Der Nutria ist in Südamerika beheimatet. Er wurde in Deutschland in Pelztierfarmen gezüchtet. Das heutige Vorkommen in Deutschland geht auf verwilderte Tiere aus diesen Farmen zurück.
Am Schädel fallen die farbigen Nagezähne auf. Die rot-orangene Substanz entsteht durch Eiseneinlagerungen im Zahnschmelz und kennzeichnet indirekt die nachwachsenden Zähne eines Nagetieres.
